Having had a good look at this
photo, it is almost certainly during the school year 1957/58 as at least two
of the senior boys pictured obtained degrees in 1961 (Radford), so they
would have left school in 1958 and it is definitely at the New School. As
well as Ron Illingworth on piano, the Rev. Paul Appleton was choirmaster.
Others I recognise are all on the last three rows on the right, with of
course 'Polly' Lowndes on the the fourth row from the right.
Starting from the outside of the last row:- 'Joe' Crowther, Lewis Heath,
Peter Evanson, ? , - Berker, Pete Jennings, Rodney Hardwick and - Whittaker.
Next Row :- ? , Colin Mason, Robert? Smith, 'Taff' Davies, Bob Knight, -
Bell? and Bert Copestake.
Next Row :- H. Wood, ? , ? , ? , Maurice Kershaw, Alan Cloves and ? Hope
that info is of use. Les Simpson |

I discovered your Web Site this morning as I took a
trip down memory lane. I was at BoT BGS between 1964 and 1970. I was in the
Orchestra which gave a concert or two and played at Speech Day. This photo
shows an orchestra practice which, I seem to remember, was on a Friday
lunch-time. I played Double Bass. My hand can be seen on the far left of the
picture. Having girls from the Girls High was certainly a radical thing for
the school but a pleasurable thing for a 15 year old boy!
