I can clarify why the sign
is for the "ROVER BAR" Back in the dim dark distant past, before "Cub
Scouts", "Scouts" & "Venture Scouts", in the age of sanforized khaki cotton
uniforms, the Boy Scout Movement was organized age-wise as - Wolf Cubs, Boy
Scouts, Senior Scouts & Rover Scouts. The reorganisation happened just about
as I "made the leap" from Wolf Cub to Boy Scout (Having attained my "Leaping
Wolf" badge) Also, my father had been the Rover Scout Leader with the 16th
Burton (Stapenhill) troop where I started my scouting career. Cheers,
